Gov Ballin’
The Governors Ball NYC Music Festival has finally arrived! Tomorrow, June 23rd, concert-goers from near and far will travel to Randall’s Island for the event, which features indie darlings Beck, Modest Mouse, Passion Pit, and many, many more.
Before you head out to the island, however, you probably have to iron out a whole bunch of boring and potentially stressful details. For example, how do I get there? Wait, the festival’s on an island? I can’t swim that far! Oh my god I have to take the subway and I don’t even know where I’m going, I’m going to pass out. This is the worst.
Take a deep breath. We’ve got your back.
Getting There
There are a few ways you can plan your trip.  First and foremost, you can head over to the Governor’s Ball Official Website, which details all of the ways you can get to Randall’s Island. Shuttle to the festival from both BK and Philly are SOLD OUT but you can still buy regular ferry tickets for $25 or parking passes if you plan on driving.
If you don’t have a transportation pass associated with the festival itself and still need to get there, download MyCityWay Now, a free app for ALL of your transportation information to and from the city. You can get real-time subway info so you don’t miss your favorite band’s set. If you’re driving, you can even check MyCityWay’s traffic cam feature to find an alternative route!
